You will submit any enclosures with the check and endorse the check over to SF State at the Bursar's Office. Paperwork will be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office to process the Scholarship check disbursement. Allow 7 to 10 business days for processing.
Yes. Do not submit the Scholarship check to SF State. However, please report the Scholarship to the Financial Aid Office.
Yes. All financial aid recipients who are awarded Scholarships are required to report other resources to the Financial Aid Office. Scholarship awards must be coordinated with your financial aid package.
You can report the scholarship online by following these instructions:
1.) Log on to your SF State Gateway with your SF State Login
2.) Find the Launchpad section of your gateway and click on Student Center
3.) Once at the Student Center, go to the Finances section and click on the Report Other Aid link
4.) Report the Scholarship(s) you will be receiving for the academic year
NOTE: You may also send a copy of your congratulatory letter from the Scholarship organization/foundation to the SF State Financial Aid Office.

When a Scholarship disburses, it will always disburse towards tuition charges for and then any additional fees after that (Ex. On-campus housing fees). Once everything is paid for and there are still leftover funds, the Bursar's Office will send the student a refund.
If the charges are more than the Scholarship amount, then the student will NOT receive a refund.
