If you have been awarded a Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). This notice is to inform you of important eligibility and disbursement information in regards to your award. Due to the way CSAC determines award eligibility, your MCS funds will not disburse until after SFSU's Census date of February 16th, 2018.
If you enroll in less than 12 units or drop to less than 12 units before the Census date, your MCS award may be prorated based on tuition fees charged and other aid received. To prevent incorrect awarding and possible repayment, your final MCS amount will be determined and disbursed in the weeks following the Census date.
If a different type of financial aid (e.g. loans) has already paid your tuition prior to the disbursement of your MCS, the Bursar's Office will automatically process a refund. You should receive your refund within 1 to 2 weeks.
- If you paid for your tuition out of pocket, then you must request for a refund and submit it to the Bursar's Office located on the first floor of the Administration Building or at One Stop on the first floor of the Student Services Building. You should receive your refund within 4 weeks.
